The Top 24: American Idol Takes Rejection to New Heights

Television – What's the worst job interview you've ever had to go on? Did you have to wait endlessly in the lobby? Was there a nerve-wracking elevator ride to the top floor of an office building? Did you have to sit awkwardly in front of three interviewers with a reputation for being either mean, or quirky, or both? Were there cameras sticking in your face?

"There are a lot of young contestants this year. Nearly half of the Top 24 are under 21, and eight of them are teenagers. That should be interesting to see how they do. Geographically, most of the group is from the south, including three from Florida and two from Tulsa, Oklahoma. But there are a few Yankees in there too and a smattering of singers from the west.

Here's the official list, and you can check out everyone's stats here:

"For the final two guys, the judges selected Colton Berry over uber-nerd Kyle Ensley. Simon said he strongly disagreed with the decision and wished Kyle was going on. (Don't you run the whole show Simon?) I think the judges and Idol producers missed a great chance for another Sanjaya. Kyle would have been intentionally goofy at every chance, which would have made for some great TV."

I agree! They should have kept Kyle. I loved that dork. :D

I haven't been keeping up with American Idol. I did see a ventrilliquest comedian that was funny, the 'pepper on a stick' was one, not sure what was the name of the show. I liked the Dancing With The Stars!

Thanks AG!

Simon's a jerk and you never know if Paula is high, drunk or straight.

They seem to enjoy deliberately allow people to get on stage and make complete idiots of themselves, and to add insult to injury, they then make fun, laugh and shoo them off stage.

Why not just eliminate them BEFORE they make an ass of themselves in front of the world?

I don't watch this show for those reasons, everyone has feelings and everyone thinks they have some kind of talent that sets them apart. AND, not everyone has the good sense NOT to get up in front of the world and make a jackass of themself.

HAHAHAHAHA!

The only show i saw that me mad was. That dancing contest thing. can you dance? Something like that. Anyway this little lady had to weigh four hundred pounds and you could tell she was mental challenged. You could see see she was used and abused.

So you think you can dance? ; )

No, they are not that mean. It was probably that stupid "America's Got Talent" show.

Ha, I love Simon! He kills me. And so far it seems like Paula has been watching her p's and q's this season but I'll report back and let ya know if I see any shenanigans. lol, she's still goofy, though.

And the fact that everybody doesn't have the good sense not to get up in front of the whole world is the very reason why I watch! lol, those beginning shows are priceless.

They've passed Hollywood week and now we're down to where America votes. They have some pretty good talent this year; they all sound good. The only thing I don't like is I've noticed that half of them have already sang in bands, made a record, or have been on some other reality competition TV show. I want some unknowns! :D

I watched So You Think You Can Dance the first season it was on, but it left something to be desired after that, so i haven't watched since.

Makes me glad I quit watching it. I watch hardly any TV these days. Didn't even watch the Super Bowl.

I have yet to watch American Idol and have no plans to begin. I call it junk tv(which most tv is today).

I'm actually quite proud of myself for never deliberately watching so much as a second of American Idol.

I preen a bit every time I think of me not watching that show.
