Well, guess I won't be watching this game show again.
This is something I rarely say about a person - but I cannot stand Drew Carey at all !!! I can't stand how he looks, talks, dresses, his glasses, his hair cut.....Blaaaaaaeeeech !
I think it is because he looks just like a cousin of mine who was a real loser and really "doofus".

The recent trend to try to bring some comedy to game shows is interesting. Howie Mandell with "Deal Or No Deal"...Jeff Foxworthy with "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" (which I am not!) and now Drew Carey hosting "The Price Is Right", the longest running active game show in TV history.
Personally, I think the networks should "kick it up a notch" and look at hard core stand up comics like Chris Rock, Katt Williams, and Jamie Foxx for current or new game show programming. Advertiser's would flock to the show...and what ever the game show, it would have an instant fan base.
I'm a fan of Katt Williams (Wild N Out, The HBO special "The Pimp Chronicles, part I"). I would pay good money to see him host a re-vamped "Love Connection". That would be the funniest thing on T.V.!

Well at least in Happy Gilmore 2, Adam Sandler might have it better next time around in a fight.

Let's see how long he'll last....I give him 1 year...if the ratings drop, he WILL be replaced. TPIR is part of American History and, while I like Drew Carey, I am surprised of this most recent announcement.

I don't think they could find anyone to replace Bob,that everyone could agree on. We all grew up watching him on that show and can't imagine someone else doing it. Drew has some huge shoes to fill and it's going to be very tough for him to win over the viewers

I like Drew Carey. Bob Barker was synonomous with TPIR but common sense dictates that he wouldn't be there forever. I think Drew was a good choice.

Although I agree that the Price is Right will not be the same, give Drew a chance. It took 50 years in the business for Bob Barker to become the icon and legend that he is today. Drew can make the show his own. Johnny Carson had the Tonight Show for ages. Jay Leno took over and made it his own.

I agree, it was like with Whos Line Is It Anyway? For years I enjoyed that show while it was on BBC/America. I thought Drew would ruin it. But he did a wonderful job with it.
I do not see Drew, causing any kind of problems on TPIR. I see him being nice to the contestants and truly rooting for the them. I think this will really be good for him, cause he was such a huge fan of the show to begin with.

IMO, he really ought not do this.
One would think he'd have an opportunity to do another sit-com. Or at least attempt a feature film.
He'd be a great character actor. He at least has that potential.

Honestly, I have never seen what anyone sees in the show. If I'm going to watch a game show I at least want to see someone with some skill or intellect. Jeopardy works. However, I can still remember when Bill Cullen hosted The Price Is Right.

I can't wait to see what it's like I watch it almost everyday before the young and the restless.

GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE, IT MAY TAKE A WHILE TO GET THE BALL ROLLING, BUT I THINK DREW IS JUST THE MAN TO DO IT.
