No one has, it comes out in July. If you read the article, you might have noticed that one of the characters will show full frontal nudity. I was asking whether they should receive an 'R' rating based on that little tidbit.

LTW, It's a cartoon. Don't be daft! You would watch a movie where 80 "gooks" get killed in one moment by Rambo or the like, but a little puppet nudity blows up your skirt?
Frankly, I am sick of your flag-waving puritanism, protecting violence while opposing something on the basis of something natural and beautiful, nudity.
I am tired of listening to you. Take your eagle, go to church and fly it around with the other bats in your pseudo-Christian belfries. It's NOT "lovely".

The Simpson movie should probably get an "R" rating because of content alone, never mind cartoon nudity. It's not a show for kids, I can't imagine the movie would be any better. It better not be! :D

actually, minimal nudity only gets a movie PG-13 rating. R rating is reserved for gratuitous amounts of nudity/sexual content, violence, and drug references/usage. Unless this movie follows their Halloween specials for violence, then there's no reason for it to be rated R.

I can't get why the Simpsons is stooping to some of the comedy approaches I've seen in the previews. I always thought the show was funny as it was.
I think Futurama is hilarious. Why couldn't they just take the old Simpsons ideas and mix it with some of the humor Futurama had instead of resorting to nudity and crude violence. (I always thought the violence before was extremely limited and mild)

I find it hard to believe that people are getting chatty about a little, harmless adolescent nudity! Kids do not have the hangups "adults" do about bathing or playing naked, it is not until adults "educate" them to be embarassed that shame develops.
It is unfortunate that in the United States the average person automatically has sexual thoughts at the slightest hint of a bare breast or buttock! If adult parents did not perpetuate the culture of shame our children would not have such problems with it.
It is the majority of adults in this country that need to grow up!

The cartoon, is simply a cartoon. Its not like South Park, where it almost seems the creaters go out of their way to make it un-wholesome. The Simpson contains very little profanity when looked at in prespective.

Most people are just way too puritanical here. Who cares if kids see a penis. Half the audience looks at one each time they go to the bathroom and the other half has probably seen one playing doctor with a neighbor before shes 10.
Any R rating should be because of how Bart uses it not that he has it. Silly... Simply silly.

The whole "Simpsons" thing is trash! I saw a few 'happy hour' episodes in 2003, and I thought to myself "what a brain-dead, filthy bunch of crap." When my teenage daughter lived at home, she was not allowed to watch it because of the projected 'bad attitude' of the charactors and story lines.
These shows were made for 'mentally challenged' couch potatoes, and because of the content, should be rated X.
If no one under the age of 30 watched it, it would be dead history.

The whole "Simpson thing" is trash! It should be rated X for the language, attitude, and just plain garbage. My teen daughter was never allowed to watch it, and if no one under 30 watched it, it would be dead history. This show was apparently made for 'mentally challenged' teens, and die-hard couch potatoes. I have more constructive things to do with my time and money, than to wallow in this filth.

It seems a little ridiculous that Bart has to show it all in order to generate more hype about the movie, when it is such a well known cartoon. But I can't imagine that the Simpsons movie is any worse than most of the movies that slip by with a PG-13 rating.

How can you equate The Simpsons with liberal wants and desires? It's satire- Marge and Homer genuinely love their kids, they're not divorced, they go to church on Sunday's, they are blindly patriotic, support gun culture etc etc. Looks more like the values conservatives hold to their hearts to me.
The Simpsons is a parody- it lampoon's American society and the only ones that tend be ashamed, that I can see, are the people that see a little bit of themselves represented by it.

Actually, the simpsons are suprisingly liberal, have you seen the episode where the government captures them and they sing that satire prison song? "My membership card says ACLU, now look what I'm going to do *burning it*" sounds liberal to me (and I love every single second of it). It's some of the other characters seen as cons, namely Flanders, that psycho wife of Lovejoy, and then of course, Lovejoy himself.

I can't wait to see it. I'd prefer it to have a R rating just so we aren't in a theatre with 100 4-5 yr olds!

This is speculation people! Is it "official" that there is going to be full-frontal cartoon nudity? It's hard to dole out a rating for a film that hasn't been seen by anyone yet.
I'd be surprised if the creators made the movie have an "R" rating--I bet it'll be PG-13 to maximize profits--"The Simpsons" has never really been an R-rated franchise in my opinion, unlike "Family Guy" or the far superior "South Park."
But who knows? The original cut of masterpiece "Team America" got an NC-17 rating--and the puppets didn't even have gentalia. Now THAT's ridiculous.
